Hi,
This is the game i hinted about in the stormplayer topic, it's a clone of Lemmings!

Firstly, I thought i saw somwhere that there was already a lemmings game for cybiko (cylemmings?) but i could not find it when searching, if there is i will change this game accordingly.

As everyone probably knows, the aim of the game is simply to guide the lemmings to the level exit whilst avoid the many perils on route such as drops and spikes.

Controls
--------
Arrows/QAOP : Move the crosshairs.
Select : Cycle through lemming types.
Enter : When you are over a lemming, press enter to make lemming this type.
e : Explode all on screen lemmings.
Space : Exits the current level and game.

The reason for the additional QAOP controls is that my arrow keys barely work!

This is an early demo which is why a lot of the graphics and style are ripped from my other games (the blocks are bricks from the platform demo and the windows from the brain game...). Also their are no limits to the number of abilities that can be given out.

On the positive side:

* 3 Levels
* 10 Lemmings per level
* 4 Lemming types (walker,digger,blocker,floater)

Thing i hope to add:
* Animation
* Better graphics
* Less generic screens
* The ability to load user created levels
* More levels and lemming types

At the moment the game is a more of a test to make sure the lemmings are doing what are supposed to!

Any suggestions or comments let me know!

Enjoy!

Hi ssjx,

Again an great game!

Some things you can work on:

The cursor have to go faster, the lemmings move at the same speed and you can't select an lemming that is walking to the right and your cursor is left of the lemming, not too fast but just an little bit faster.

An save option, so you can play further where you are, something like 4 save slots, and an list of levels and you can only play level 2 if you have finished level 1.

An time limit per level

Getting points for each level, so you get more points when you rescue more lemings and an bonus when you rescue all lemmings, and more points when you are faster.

Mayebe you should make an tutorial or an program to make new levels that we can post to you, so you can work more on my suggestions and the graphics and lemming types what you said.

For an first demo it is an very good game already.

Good luck, and keep me updated!

Giorgio

Thanks for the feedback! Initially the cursor was double the speed of
the lemmings but i had to change it to keep the lemmings speed up.

What i plan to do is create about 10 levels and the have a system where users can create level packs. I do like the idea of a level list so i may use
that and a resume point.

Feel free to upload any of my progs to your site, i am not yet signed up on your site.

Otherwise you make it 1.5 the speed of the lemmings, and make an button (like shift) that will let the cursor move 10 pixels each time instead of 1

Do you want to make that system for on the Cybiko or for the computer?
If you want to make it for the Cybiko, the best is to make it optional, so you have 2 files for the lemmings, one game, and one level creator.

How long do you think it will take till you have finished version 0.2?
I can't wait till I can play Lemmings on my Cybiko!

I think the level creation method will probably be a special textfile to
begin with that can be hand made, then maybe also have a program that can generate this textfile. I can't see any real use of a cybiko based level creator thought i could be wrong.

The next demo will probably not be until the start of the new year.

That's good, I don't think it will be necceseary to make an Cybiko based level creator, but if you want to make it, don't make it in the game, because the most people that wants to play lemmings does not want to make levels.
The only time that I may make some levels on the Cybiko is when I am on school, but when I am at home, I will use my computer.

Merry Christmas and an happy new year then!

Have to admit, i have not done a great deal of anything cybiko related recently. I've been playing around with the excellent 'FreeBasic' for pc...

I do plan on carrying on cybiko stuff though and will resume this shortly!

The default template for RC3 was installed when I did an upgrade recently but my existing DB overwrote it with the one that was in my DB when I re-added the db to the site.

Can anyone help me find it? It was like blue bg with a right hand side navigation

thanks
