Nice. Yeah, all you can do is play some games at this point. I think miachat might not work anymore regardless, since it hasn't been updated.
The cells should be 600mAh each, though, no matter if you use all three or just two. Original battery was rated 600mAh at 3.4v, so those two cells should be ~567mAh at 2.4v The battery indicator is probably calibrated to the discharge voltage of the old cell, so it should be fairly accurate with your replacements. Sorry to bring up this old topic
Happen to know if such a thing could be done for the Classic? I have a bunch of old(er) phones (and batteries) at home, plus I can get a bunch more. All it should take is some soldering, right? Do they charge using the actual Cybiko, or do I need to charge it outside of the unit using the original phone? This post has been edited by sepulchre0: Mar 8 2010, 05:53 AM |

Don't worry too much about necroposting here, we're happy for any activity we get. I've soldered in AAs, AAAs, and 3.7v DS Lite battery and it runs+charges fine, so I don't think the Cybiko Classic is very picky. Just be weary that the battery indicator shouldn't necessarily be trusted. What I'd do is charge your cells on a supported device to the max, measure their voltage, then completely discharge. Charge in the Cybiko until the voltage from earlier is reached. You could then get an idea of the charge time, and how accurate the battery meter is with your new batteries (if at all).
